Fabrizio Romano, who boasts the highest public confidence in European soccer, is famous for writing the signature comment "HERE WE GO" when a player's transfer or contract is "almost" confirmed.

However, HERE WE GO faced a crisis of cracking credibility.

Romano announced the departure of Real Sociedad defensive midfielder Martin Subimendi (26) to Arsenal on the 28th of last month (Korea Standard Time), drawing attention by leaving an interview that "the Gunners are yet to be decided."

According to the Spanish media "Madrid Zone" on Sunday, Subimendi said, "My future hasn't been decided yet. This summer will be a long summer. I don't know how it will end."

"What if coach Xavi Alonso called (me) to join Real Madrid? I have always called him an idol, and it was an honor to have him as a coach even when I was with Real Sociedad B," he said, leaving a strange lingering impression.

Real Madrid's new coach Alonso fostered young blood in Real Sociedad B between 2019 and 2022.

Subimendi, the Real Sociedad "Sunggol Youth," honed his skills here between 2017 and 2020 and signed a relationship with his own soccer senior, who played as the best defensive midfielder of the time.

Six days ago, Romano wrote that Subimendi had completed all the paperwork with Arsenal and only had a medical test left. After the Romano report, there were local reports that Subimendi was undergoing a medical test in London, the U.K.

However, on the 30th of last month, Subimendi drew attention by posting a photo on his social network (SNS) that seemed to deny this.

He indirectly denied the rumor of staying in London by posting a photo of his hometown of Sebastian, Spain.

"Real Sociedad is still trying to stay in Subimendi, and Real Madrid is also a fan of him," British 'Tribuna' said, claiming that joining Arsenal is by no means an irreversible move.

Subimendi also explained about the situation at the time, "It was posted intentionally. I posted the photo to clarify that the rumor that he was undergoing a medical test in London is not true."

Subimendi, born in 1999 and a midfielder for Spain's national team, is considered one of the "low-end roadies" along with Mikel Merino.

He has been steadily on the list of big clubs since 2024, when he helped his country win the European Football Championship (Euro) with his vigorous activity, excellent defensive skills, and top-notch passing ability in La Liga.  스포츠토토

Statman Dave, who plays as a soccer expert for Sky Sports and BBC in the UK, praised Subimendi, saying, "He is an outstanding deep-lining playmaker, and he has excellent ability to find a path between lines and lines, and each play is really simple."
